Family Medicine is a specialty that provides coordinated, comprehensive and continuing health care for individuals (regardless of age, sex and disease) in a holistic manner (integrating biological, clinical and  behavioural science) within the context of the family and the community. 

The domain of Family Medicine are as follows;

- Primary care or home-based care which serves as the point of entry of patient to healthcare system.

- Family care establishes the family dynamics in health through effective communication and satisfaction.

- Facility care or hospital-based care where systemic review, diagnosis and admission are assessed.

Day to day running of the department:

- General out-patient clinics daily

- Geriatric clinic on Fridays 

- Chronic Disease clinic on Tuesdays 

- Family Medicine Practice Daily

- Medical Fitness Assessment 

- Regular observation

- Lifestyle modification clinic

- Morning case management review

- Case and proposal presentations

- Morbidity and Mortality review

- Clinical presentations on Thursdays
