HEALTH INSURANCE DEPARTMENT

Health Insurance scheme, UNIMEDTH Akure is the place where quality health care is provided to all clients irrespective of their age, sex, ethnicity and diseases. The services are readily available, accessible everyday. The current restructuring by the state Government has made the scheme experience a huge development under the leadership of the Acting Medical director, Dr. Adesina Akintan.  The scheme being coordinated by Dr. Ayadi Adewale, a Family Physician, is committed to quality health care in accordance to the policy of the National and State insurance Agency / Commission. The scheme has been able to add the following values to the services which are but to mention a few:
a.    Complete renovation of the insurance building 
b.    Provision of prompt quality care to the clients by engaging specialists and professionals
c.    Adequate provision of medications to our clients by ensuring sufficient stocking of drugs
d.    Establishment of the pharmacy units in all the specialist clinics for ease of accessing drugs 
e.    Engagement of casual staff to address the immediate needs of the clients both out- and in-patients
f.    Engagement of Doctors, Nurses, pharmacists, health information officers, laboratory scientists and other professionals for the insurance scheme to provide quality services to the clients
g.    Installation of solar system to power the complex for 24hours 
h.    Construction of the a patient waiting area for the comfort of our clients
i.    Provision of new medical equipments for quality care to our clients
j.    Reduction of waiting time of our clients
k.    Intramural system between the primary, secondary and tertiary care system within the institution
