OTORHINOLARYNGOLOGY

ENT department plays a vital role in the health care system, addressing a wide range of conditions that affect our senses and daily lives. The services render in the department includes the following; 
*patients assessment & evaluation
*Diagnosis & treatment of ear, nose and throat disorders
*Hearing tests
*Ear, nasal and throat surgeries 
*Thyroid and parathyroid surgeries 
*Foreign body removal from the ear, nose and throat 
*Ear emergencies like epistaxis and peritonsillar abscess and 
*Providing patients education and counseling on ENT conditions and treatments 


 The goals of the unit is to provide quality, personalized care, evidenced based, cutting edge treatments and procedures to improve patients outcomes, train future health care professionals, to promote expertise and excellence, ensure a safe and compassionate environment, foster team work among health care professionals, educate the community about ENT conditions, prevention and treatment options, continuously assess and improve ENT services and advocate for the needs of patients.


   The unit vision is to make ENT UNIMEDTHC, Akure complex a renowned center of excellence, provide care that prioritizes patient needs, to foster collaboration & team work and to promote hearing, speech and breathing wellness.
 Clinic opens everyday from Monday to Friday, except the weekend and the public holidays to perform our procedures and attend to all emergencies but run clinic on every Mondays and Tuesdays to see new patients and for follow up care.


  The relevance of ENT in a teaching hospital and the society are numerous which includes;  clinical training , research & innovation, patients care, education and lectures, interdisciplinary collaboration, workshops & conferences, residency & fellowship programs, advancement in technology, community outreach & education , and leadership and mentorship.
