The Department of Pharmaceutical Services, consistent with the vision and mission of Unimedth, places a high priority on Patient’s Care, Teaching and Research (PTR).
The Department is the pivot through which quality and quantitative pharmaceutical care services are rendered to in-patients, out-patients, accident and emergency patients and staff members in the teaching hospital.

Clinical services rendered by the Department include dispensing of medications, patient care counseling, drug interaction monitoring, therapeutic drug monitoring, prescription error monitoring, drug order review and drug information support for healthcare providers, patients and the public.
Pharmaceutical services provided by the Department is focused on an integrated, unit-based model for excellent clinical pharmaceutical care delivery at the following Units for now–
The Pharmacy Department at Unimedth is responsible for dispensing medications 24/7-daily for the in-patient, out-patient, accident and emergency-patient, NHIS/ORANGHIS/ARV patient and staff members in the hospital, including, management of drug revolving fund, pharmacovigilance support, small scale manufacturing, research and training, amongst others.
In all of these, we deliver an integrated and inclusive excellent pharmaceutical services to the patients, hospital community and the public.
The Department consists of Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians as well as other technical and support personnel, who work together to assure patients receive quality, quantitative and cost-effective pharmaceutical care possible.
